Detroit Logo

Recently, I was going through my things and stumbled across a drawing I'd done back in high school. When I was sixteen, my family and I moved from Canton, Michigan to Marshall, Texas. For me, it was a huge culture shock. Anyway, when people asked me where I was from (I had no southern drawl) I told then I was from a suburb of Detroit. Well, that became my nickname my last few years of high school. The inset in the upper rh corner is the original piece. I decided to remake in in Adobe Illustrator.

INKSLINGER Magazine Cover

Back in high school I was on the staff of the school magazine. The magazine was published annually and featured artwork, stories and poems by the students. All work was submitted anonomously, and voted on by the staff. That year I submitted some poetry and this cover design. I did the original art in pen and ink. This is from the printed cover.

Toastfest Flyer/Poster

I created this for one of my friend's bands. I did a comic book featuring some of the fictional characters he created many years ago. I put this as the back cover of that comic book. But I think it stands alone. It was a ton of fun to create. I built this entirely in Adobe Illustrator.

INSIDE Airbus Helicopters

As the Creative Designer at Airbus Helicopters, while assigned to the Communications department, I designed and produced a quarterly company newsletter, in magazine format. This was the last issue I worked on. They were a lot of work, especially since it was just me and one othe person producing these. He wrote the content and I pulled everything together. This was built in Adobe InDesign. Click on image to see a PDF of the entire content.
Cartography
When I began my career, I never realized just how many roles I would be capable of doing. While still early on in my journey I joined Verizon Information Services. My role was a Sr. Analyst in Marketing and Competitive Intelligence. I was essentially a cartographer. I made maps that went into the directorys, (you know, phone books), and some were just for the sales team to sell advertising in the directories. So I would have to show overlays where the Verizon Superpages where distributed versus where the competitors books were distributed. It was only a couple of years in my storied path, but one I rather enjoyed.
